A werewolf done at the prodding of ~ ChildEatingMonster. I'm fairly satisfied with the way this came out, especially the shading in the fur, which I do very little of. For those of you that are thinking "That doesn't look like a werewolf at all!" I will say this: I draw my way, you draw your way. So shaddup. But anyway. Drawing pencils on 60 lb. cruddy paper, no references used.
Why yes, I had a repetitive, horrible art teacher that used the same cow skulls in still lifes over and over again until her students could draw them in their sleep. Why do you ask? |

I have half a mind to kill you...
And the other half agrees...

I really like this piece. It has a lot more going on than many of your studies. It has an action and it yearns for explanation from the viewer. This type of response is something I try to achieve whenever possible in my work. Micheal Whelan first brought this idea to my attention. He calls it a "sense of wonder", hence the names of two of his books Wonderworks and Works of Wonder.
I llike the dark grassy portion around the ribcage. It helps the composition and adds to the mystery. All around, this is a cool drawing. Hey, and I don't even like werewolves. My apologies to any that are reading this. Oops, now I've done it!

As in all forms of government and most (if not all) religion: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.
How did you know?
I hated that woman.
